IC Profiler from Sun Nuclear is the ionization chamber based solution for direct QA on linac and the perfect substitute for the water phantom. IC Profiler is a complete scanning system for Linac factory testing, field adjustments, service and routine QA dosimetry. The ionization chambers on the X, Y and diagonal axes measure all beam profiles after a single beam delivery.
Since the start of 2009 Sun Nuclear started producing the IC Profiler and is now used by the Elekta engineers for Linac acceptance, maintenance and service. The IC Profiler is an excellent substitute for the water phantom, as Neil McCann (system engineer at Elekta) demonstrates in a comparison with the IBA Blue Phantom.
Like all Sun Nuclear products the IC Profiler is easy to use. Analyzing with the advanced PROFILER software is simple and it is also possible to import water phantom measurement data for comparison.
